Rating System

NOTE: THIS PAGE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
This is just a brief explanation of what I take into consideration, more or less, when I give my rating.  My rating may be affected by other things not listed here that I may find in any particular book.  Please take these explanations with a grain of salt, as my considerations may change.

GOLD STAR RATING - EXCELLENT
If a book has this rating, that probably means I couldn't put it down, not even for sleep, and that I pretty much loved everything about it.  The characters, plot, and writing were great and consistent, with only very minor flaws.  The story was probably unique or interesting and was able to hold my attention throughout.  I would highly recommend a book with this rating!

SILVER STAR RATING - VERY GOOD
If a book has this rating, that probably means that it was a great book, but didn't hold my attention so much that I couldn't put it down.  I was able to read this with breaks in between, but still had the book on my mind and couldn't wait to get back to reading.  The book that gets this rating probably has great characters, plot, and writing with some flaws that didn't affect my enjoyment of the book.  The story might not have been as original, but was nicely written or written in a way that made it stand out and I would recommend this book for sure.

BRONZE STAR RATING - GOOD
If a book has this rating, that probably means that it was a good book, or average, and something I would still probably recommend.  It was probably not a book that I felt had to be finished reading right away; most likely, I took my time reading it.  This book probably had good characters, plot, and writing, but probably had some flaws or plot holes that affected my enjoyment of the book a bit.

BLUE STAR RATING - NEEDS SOME WORK
If a book has this rating, that probably means that this book could not hold my attention completely or I couldn't get into the story.  I was probably left questioning many things within the book or didn't like something about the characters, plot, and/or writing.  It probably had quite a few flaws and needed work, but I was still able to get through reading it.  Most likely, it ended up that this book just wasn't for me, and I probably wouldn't recommend a book with this rating.

PURPLE STAR RATING - BLEH
If a book has this rating, that probably means that I finished reading it, but in the end felt like it was a waste of my time.  This would probably be due to either lack of characterization, unlikable characters, bad writing throughout the book, and/or a bad plot line.  I wouldn't recommend a book with this rating.  NOT the same as a DNF (did not finish) book.
